We are always happy to have Kris Kwapis and her “sterling tone” on the baroque trumpet. Kris puts the singers through our paces and makes us sing fast. Faster. And faster yet.
Our Season Grand Finale welcomes back Alice Culin-Ellison on violin. Alice is a student of the Case Western Historical Performance Practice Program. Alice will also participate in the launch of the Berwick Academy for Historical Performance at the Oregon Bach Festival in June.
We welcome back Reynaldo Patiño for our Season Grand Finale. Reynaldo first played the violin with the Collegium last November. This concert he plays the viola. Perhaps someday we can hear him play a vielle, sort of a medieval fiddle. Reynaldo played the vielle with the Texas Tech Early Music Ensemble and studied at IU-Bloomington Jacobs School of Music Historical Performance Institute. Unlike a baseball pitcher, Janet Scott is our perfect pitcher on organ or harpsichord every time. Janet pitches cues correctly to the singers and keeps us in the game.
